STANHOPE AGRICULTURAL SHOW

Our 176th Show takes place on the 9th and 10th September The 2017 show will be a celebration of agriculture and country life, packed with entertainment for everyone. The Main Ring is the hub of the Show and provides a wonderful setting for an exciting line up of activities. This year's event programme brings many features, so no matter what the weather you will have a great day out for the entire family. Stanhope Show is a day to catch up with old friends and hopefully forge new friendships, Stanhope Agricultural Society wishes everyone a most enjoyable 2017 show. WHERE'S THE SHOWGROUND? The showground is Unthank Park, Stanhope. County Durham. DL13 2PQ The show always coincides with the annual fair which is held in Stanhope Front Street and Market. Thrilling rides including Waltzer, Dodgems and Miami are always in attendance along with numerous side stalls and roundabouts. The children always get excited when they see the fair pull into the town and eagerly watch as the stalls and rides are being built up. Then on the Friday evening prior to the show it starts and Stanhope is lit up with all the dazzling lights from the rides and stalls. With a charter been awarded by Queen Victoria the fair is a tradition that has continued from the Victorian era. Operated by Jamie Clark the rides are all modern and up to date therefore giving the very latest thrilling entertainment. Throughout the year our superb show ground along with essential facilities attracts many different organisations and businesses to hold events. The ground is available to suit your size of event for hire at very attractive rates. Venue, Location, It's everything! Unthank Park is set in the beautiful Dales surroundings by the banks of the River Wear just a short walk from the Front Street and local amenities in Stanhope. The Showground is no stranger to big events. Home to the annual Stanhope Show, Unthank Park is sufficiently large to accommodate the numerous stands, marquees and car parking that are a necessary part of staging a successful event. Catering for all types of events With an abundance of pubs, hotels, bed and breakfasts, caravan sites and retail businesses, Unthank Park is simply a superb location for a multitude of events. The site is situated on the banks of the River Wear in Weardale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Stanhope Show is a wonderful day out for the entire family. There are many attractions, competitions and exhibitions for both children and adults.
